Policy

Thank you for being interested in having Bambi review your book! Right now, I blog for fun of it, with the hopes of creating something more one day when I have time. I don't like to refuse authors, so before you send me that email request, please read below. Keep in mind that even if your book fits the genre, it also depends on my interest on the book's plot and my availability. I am an attorney by day, so my reading and review schedule revolves around my day job and hearing schedule. Because of this, I book my review/promo schedule at least two months in advance. For monthly features such as Indie Wednesday, Thrify Thursday, Throwback Thursday and Freebie Friday - they are usually scheduled more than 3 months in advance.

Sub-Genres of Romance I Prefer to Read/Review:
  • Urban Fantasy
  • Paranormal Romance
  • Fantasy Romance
  • Erotic Romance
  • Dark Romance
  • Biker/MC Romance
  • Contemporary Romance (prefer heroines 25+ y/o)
  • Time Travel
  • Historical Romance
  • Romantic Suspense
  • RomCom/Chick Lit
Genres I Will Review if Time Permits, outside of the Romance Genre:
  • Suspense
  • Thriller
  • Psychological Thriller
  • Legal Fiction (stories featuring lawyers!)
  • Southern Fiction
  • Y/A Fantasy
I Do Not Read/Review the following:
  • Children's Fiction
  • Biographies
  • LGBT Romance
  • Femdom
  • Zombie Stories
  • Horror
  • Poetry
  • Religious Fiction
  • Male Author Romance (sorry, I tried but it never works out)
Note:
  • My reviews are posted on the blog, Amazon, Bookbub and on Goodreads. I also post the link on Facebook, G+ and Twitter. They also show up via RSS on BookBlogging and Bloglovin'.
  • I love audiobooks and will accept them for review... but it may take me longer to read/listen to those as they move slower than Iread.
  • If you are looking for a beta reader or proofreader for your book, I am open to that as well. Given my occupation, I tend to be good at proofreading others' work (not always my own).
Book reviews will include the following information:
  • book cover
  • book title and author
  • name of series and number in series, ifapplicable
  • synopsis (from Goodreads or Amazon)
  • publication date and publisher
  • purchase link to Amazon and iBooks
  • link to review on Goodreads
  • rating scale is posted below
Does your book fit a genre I might enjoy?Great! Keep reading!

For authors/publishers:

If you want me to review your book(s), e-mail me at bambi_unbridled@aol.com (bambi_unbridled[@]aol[dot]com).

Step 1: Get in touch with me

Email me with an introduction to the book, the genre, if it's part of a tour/launch, your preferred date for thereview, and a blurb/synopsis. Please give me a week to reply, since I have toconsult both my work and blog/review schedule.

Step 2: Send the copy (if I agreed)

If I agree to consider the bookfor a review, I prefer a copy in EPUB or MOBI format for my tablet.  Signed paper copies are also a welcomesouvenir, and comprise the bulk of my book collection.
If for any reason I cannot finishyour book, I will email you to let you know. I would rather not finish a bookand eventually decline to do a review than to try to finish a book and justrant about it. This will only make you (author/publisher) and me feel bad.

Step 3: Wait for my review/update

If I review the book, I will sendyou the link when it goes live.  I try toreview the book as soon as I finish it so I don't forget anything.  I do not send my blog draft to theauthor/publisher prior to posting unless you have provided images/content youwould like included with the the review/post. I do not have time to create a lot of graphics for my reviews,so I welcome media content from the author/publisher.

Step 4: Let me know

If youwant to share the review link or a part of the review on other websites(Facebook, Amazon, etc), please let me know so I can cross-post it on my socialmedia accounts.

For interviews, guest posts and exclusive content:

I am also happy to interviewauthors whose books I will read, whose books I have read already, and forupcoming books I would actually want to read. I also love to do guests posts from authors, as long as you are giving me quality and exclusive content. Same deal with promos, I have no problem posting a promo but I want unique content, not just a regurgitated post that tons of other blogs are doing. Unique content helps both of us with SEO results.

Step 1: Contact me

Email me a request for a reviewand interview, if your book is out or upcoming. For an interview, I need time to read your book first doing theinterview. So if you need a specific date for the review and interview to bepublished, give me enough time to read your book and formulate interview questions. Or if I am not reading the book, I will formulate more generic questions or a fun type interview.

Step 2: Wait for my questions (if I agreed)

If I finish your book, I willemail you questions and some other info I might need.

Step 3: Email me your responses

Be as thorough and as engaging inyour answers as I know you can! Include in your responses the links you want meto post. These can be your blog, website, twitter, where your books are sold, etc. Give me your profile pic you want to include as well as a short profilefor my About the Author section at the end of the interview.

Step 4: Wait for my blog post/update

I willemail you the date when my post will be out as well as the link. As this is supposed to be a mutually beneficial relationship, I request that you share my post on your social media and/or website.

My Rating System:

I give honest book reviews.  I post both the good and the bad on my blogand goodreads.  That being said, if youhave asked me to review your book, I feel privileged to have the opportunityand don't want either one of us to feel bad if the content does not agree withme.  So, if I just can't get into thebook (and I always try to make it to at least 30% before I give up), I willemail you and let you know that it didn't work for me, so I won't leave areview.  That way I don't end upstruggling through a book that isn't interesting me and end up ranting about itat the end.  (If I do not finish a book,I do mark it as "abandoned" on my GR shelf, but I do not leave areview or star rating.)

5 starsThis book is amazing and a must read.  I will recommend it to all my friends.
4 starsThis book was great, but some small thing was missing or annoyed me.
3 starsGood book and still recommendable to my friends.
2 starsI did not really enjoy the book, but my OCD kept me reading.
1 starI did not like the book.  I struggled to finish it and it made me ranty.
DNFThe book was not for me.  I abandoned it before finishing.

Sultry Scale:

Because I read mainly in the romance genre, I like to knowwhat kind of heat/steam/sultry sex factor a book has.  For that reason, I also give books a ratingon the Sultry Scale.

5 flamesMultiple partners, BDSM or backdoor sex.
4 flamesSteamy sex (somewhat kinky or descriptive).
3 flamesMore plot than sex, but it happens once or twice. Vanilla.
2 flamesOne sex scene mostly behind closed doors (without much description).
1 flameNo sex at all, but may have kissing, sexual tension or innuendo.
No heatSelf-explanatory.
