Guest Review: Bachelor by Winter Renshaw

Series:     Rixton Falls #2
Pub. Date:May 1, 2016
Publisher:Self-Pub
Length:408 pages

Derek has been burned by love before and he isn't in a hurry to try it out again anytime soon. Of course, that was before he met Serena Randall. The problem? An attorney isn't supposed to get involved with his client.

Whoever says opposites don't attract? Derek is a small town attorney with a big heart-albeit it's carefully hidden. He adores his daughter, loves his family, and enjoys his work. He has his grumpy, brooding moments-male PMS-but he's such a sweetheart I can overlook those, lol!

The only child of an uber rich dad, Serena has maintained a sassy, charming nature under her pampered princess public persona. She can't begin to comprehend Derek's life but realizes it's one she craves-to be accepted and loved for herself. When her life publicly explodes, Serena learns the hard way who her friends really are..but at what cost?

The secondary characters provided some really funny moments! Demi and Royal-they have a fun surprise in the epilogue, Keir (from Dark Paradise)-is Serena's fiancée and still...immature as ever, and Haven, Derek's daughter, an adorable little girl who reminded me of bumblebee buzzing with curiosity!

I love that Renshaw's characters don't have a smorgasbord of drama with a heaping of unbelievable mixed in! Don't get me wrong, there's drama but it doesn't overwhelm the love story, it enhances it. And the sex..these two know how to turn on the heat and have some fun!

If you're looking for a semi dramatic, contemporary romance give this book a try. Bachelor is a sexy and sweet read told in dual POVs. Even though it's book 2 in the Rixton Falls series, Bachelor can easily be read as a standalone. However, if you want to know more about Derek's sister Demi and her husband Royal's unique history-check out book 1..aptly titled Royal.

Julie is a transplanted military brat that now calls the Midwest home with her own romantic hero, daughter and two furbabies. While she toils the day away in a medical office, she would really rather be reading! Julie loves historical romance, steampunk, romantic suspense, military romance (duh!), paranormal and urban fantasy.  She loves a kickass take-charge heroine, lots of action, and the all-important HEA. Julie can get down with an alpha male, but she does not discount a nerdy hero with a sexy brain.

Julie and Bambi met at the RT Convention where they found themselves standing in many lines, sharing their similar reading interests, and fangirling over attending authors.
