Guest Review: No Rest for the Wicked by M.L. Sparrow

Running away from her lecherous employer, Anthony discovers Elira half frozen under a blanket of snow. Taking her home, he offers her a position in his household while she decides what she wants to do.

Elira starts out hesitant and unsure in her new home but quickly carves a niche into Anthony's heart as well as the small staff with her generous spirit and protective spitfire attitude. I loved watching Elira's confidence grow with Anthony's careful nurturing and patient presence. Even though he has an overriding urge to keep her protected from his desire, I liked that Anthony doesn't ignore her fears but gives her the means to take control of each situation. He lets her decide what she wants to do so there is no doubt in her mind it's what she wants.

Anthony is a well-to--do wizard with no concern for other opinions. He is patient, protective, has a wicked sense of humor, and-almost always-is honest about his feelings towards Elira. Anthony also has an enemy, more of a nuisance in the beginning..until he turns his ruthless eye on Elira. Are Anthony and Elira prepared to trust each other and their feelings and find a way to have their HEA or will it all go up in flames?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! The main focus is Anthony and Elira's relationship but there are fun secondary supporting characters, tame love scenes that are emotional in their simplicity, a bit of suspense, and charming wizardly antics.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves not only fantasy or paranormal romance but just want a sweet, magical love story.

Julie is a transplanted military brat that now calls the Midwest home with her own romantic hero, daughter and two furbabies. While she toils the day away in a medical office, she would really rather be reading! Julie loves historical romance, steampunk, romantic suspense, military romance (duh!), paranormal and urban fantasy.  She loves a kickass take-charge heroine, lots of action, and the all-important HEA. Julie can get down with an alpha male, but she does not discount a nerdy hero with a sexy brain.

Julie and Bambi met at the RT Convention where they found themselves standing in many lines, sharing their similar reading interests, and fangirling over attending authors.
