Thea Worthington, Duchess of Wynchester divides her time between social engagements and playing her luck against fickle fortune. Yet every gamble is only a bluff—a means to hide from the pain deep within her, and the loss of a babe she never held in her arms. Now Thea's luck is about to run out. Her estranged husband has returned and seeks a reunion...

Plagued with guilt over what happened to his wife three years ago, the Duke of Wynchester has kept his distance. The duke is resolved to piece his family back together, especially now that he's discovered his beloved brother—long thought dead—still lives. But Thea's lovely, porcelain facade is on the verge of cracking...spurred on by the duke's brother's secretive, malevolent animosity.

With everything riding on her future, Thea plays a daring game of chance for love and her marriage...and this time, the dice are most certainly rigged.

Duchess Decadence is the conclusion to the Furies series, which is about 3 women who banded together in support during a difficult time in their lives. Lady Vice, Lady Scandal and Duchess Decadence ran a gaming hell and became well known for their parties. This final installment of the series is my favorite, as I knew it would be.

Thea Marie, known as Duchess Decadence at the Furies' soirees, is estranged from her husband, the Duke of Wynchester. Thea's back story was heartbreaking. She became estranged from the Duke not long after being trapped in her home during a riot. I don't want to talk about the tragedies she suffered because I don't think anything other than the riot was mentioned in previous books. But the things that happened, combined with the Duke's seemingly unemotional and cold demeanor drive Thea away to join the Furies.

The Duke of Wynchester ("Wyn" to Thea Marie), has been secretly pining for his wife since he left. I really liked the Duke and his struggle with emotions. The Duke's upbringing seemed to be very proper, one that discouraged displays of emotion. He was told not to bring passion into his marriage bed for fear of making his wife insatiable. Now we can't have that can we??? LOL

So it was nice seeing Wyn learn that it was okay to be emotional and passionate, and really work to bring Thea Marie back to him. It was also nice to see Thea Marie's protective nature toward the Duke, even though they have been estranged for years. Watching them find their way back to one another was uplifting... and their new discovery of marital relations was fun given Thea Marie's ignorance and the Duke's wariness about making his wife a wanton (and not being sure if that was a good or bad thing.) Wyn really had to work harder in this book, some of it was funny and some endearing. He has this difficulty with conversation and has to learn to make small talk... I totally empathized with him!

I do not suggest that anyone read this book as a standalone - it is a continuing storyline from the previous books. We get the resolution that all of the players have been working toward, and we discover that the culprit was even more villainous than previously thought.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Entangled in exchange for an honest review.
